Short Orals
In the short oral format, authors deliver a lecture style presentation with the aid of a computer and video projector. The conference will provide the computer and projector - authors need only to bring their presentation in electronic form. Presenters must be very fluent in spoken English, and prepared to understand and answer questions under tight time constraints. Set up time, presentation and discussion are limited to 20 minutes total.
Extended Dialogues
In extended dialogue sessions, authors first present a brief, concise summary of the technical contribution (a few minutes duration). The remaining session time is available for face-to-face discussions with conference attendees. Presenters are offered a large display area for a 100-minute session. The extended dialogue offers much longer exposure of an author's contributions to the conference community.
Special Sessions
A group of papers that focus on a specific technical topic may be organized into a special session. Special sessions may be of either the Short Oral or Extended Dialogue formats. Persons who wish to organize a Special Session should download and study the requirements and process description (click here). The list of Special Session topics is updated regularly - please navigate to the "Call for Papers'' area. Also note that deadlines for Special Session papers are different than for regular technical papers.
Tutorials
Conference attendees are welcome to attend any of the IECON-2008 and ICELIE-2008 tutorials - there are no additional charges. Attendees are kindly requested to specify the tutorials that they plan to attend on their online registration. This will help ensure sufficient materials for attendees.
Persons interested in organizing a Tutorial should download and study the requirements and process description (click here). Deadline for tutorial proposals is 1 May 2008.
